Westlake Christmas Light Installation

Home › Neighborhoods › Westlake

Five of Westlake’s eight villages sit behind gates, so the trickiest part of a light job in this corner of North Natomas may be getting our truck to your driveway. Handle that and the rest is easy. Westlake Christmas light installation, the way we do it, means you make one call to (916) 586-7193, arrange the gate, and then go about your day while somebody else climbs.

Gates come before ladders

We don’t have codes and we don’t ask the gatehouse to wave us in. Access to a gated village is the homeowner’s to arrange, however your village handles guests and vendors. Tell us which village you’re in when you call. The association’s security vendor patrols at night, which is a decent argument for a daytime install with your name on the guest list and a truck that looks like it belongs there.

The three non-gated villages skip that step. Same crew, same clips, less paperwork.

The loop trail sees the back of your house

Some Westlake lots back onto the lake, a few with private docks. The loop trail runs around the water, so the rear of a lakefront house is on view to anyone walking it. On those lots it’s worth lighting both: the roofline facing the street, and the back eave and patio columns facing the trail. Lights doubled in the water is a nice trick, and the lake does it for nothing.

Homes near Westlake Park and Egret Park are in a similar spot. A side elevation that nobody sees on an ordinary street can be on full view across open grass. Not sure what shows from where? Text us a photo or call (916) 586-7193.

How Westlake Christmas light installation fits each house style

The homes here date to the early 2000s and 2010s and run from modest to very large, so there is no standard package. A few patterns hold.

Where a Craftsman-influenced plan has porch posts, those take pillar wraps well, and a lit garland along the porch beam finishes the entry. Where a Spanish-influenced plan has tile and an arched opening, roofline lights go on with gutter clips or tile-edge clips, never a nail, and garland follows the arch over the door.

Driveways here are wide. Stake lighting down both edges gives the house a lit approach, and we set the stakes in the planting beds where we can. That matters here because some village associations handle the lawn care, and a mowing crew that didn’t place your stakes has no reason to steer around them.

A tree on your own lot can be wrapped up the trunk and out along its lower limbs. A lit wreath over the garage or in a second-story window fills a blank wall on a taller elevation. Every strand is ours, timers are set before we leave, and you can read more about wreaths and how we hang them.

For a quote, phone (916) 586-7193 or text photos of the front (and the rear, if the lake is behind you). We don’t send anyone to look.

The association and its rulebook

The Westlake Master Association is managed by FirstService Residential out of the on-site office on Westlake Parkway, and individual villages have their own sub-associations on top of it (Westlake Villas HOA, for one). The governing documents live behind the resident login. We could not read them, so you won’t get a display date from us.

What we do instead is simple. You check the current rules for the master association and your village, then call (916) 586-7193 with both ends of the window, and we schedule inside those two marks. Takedown is in January and it’s included in the job, so a deadline is our problem to hit, not yours. We also stay off the gatehouse, the entry landscaping and anything else that belongs to the association unless the association is the customer.

December traffic on this side of I-5

Westlake sits off the Del Paso Road exit of I-5, and CapRadio’s holiday guide tells Rockmont Lights visitors to park at Westlake Charter School and walk in. So December evenings may bring extra cars through the neighborhood. Early-season installs dodge all of it, and the calendar is emptier then anyway.

We also cover Natomas Park, where the Rockmont Lights are, Sundance Lake and the rest of Sacramento. The contact page works if it’s midnight and you’re thinking about lights for some reason. During normal hours, (916) 586-7193 is faster.

Straight answers for Westlake

How do you get into a gated Westlake village?

You arrange it. Each village handles guest and vendor access its own way, so tell us which one you’re in and add us as a guest twice: once when the lights go up, once when they come off in January.

What dates does the Westlake Master Association allow holiday lights?

We don’t know, and we’d sooner say that than guess. The documents are behind the resident login at the association’s site. Check the master rules and your village’s, give us the two dates, and we work inside them.

My village’s HOA mows my front lawn. Will stake lights survive that?

They do if they’re placed with the mower in mind. We keep stakes in beds and along hard edges, away from turf and sprinkler heads.

Can you light the lake side of a waterfront home?

Yes. Send photos of the rear elevation along with the front. Back eaves and patio columns are the usual choices, since those face the loop trail.
